Week 1 Posting
Hey everyone! My name is Kathryn Fairbrother and I am a senior at Meredith College. I am currently majoring in child development and am close to being done! I entered into this class with the expectation of helping animals find loving homes and to further learn about photography. I am really hoping to really connect with the service work for this class and to provide a service to the community. I am a little nervous about interacting with the staff and not getting in their way. I know they have a lot on their plate and I can either help or hinder their day. I can only hope to improve their work day. This is my first online class that I have ever taken and I am a little overwhelmed right now. I am hoping that I will still be able to participate in all the activities that I have planned for the summer. I am currently working at the local YMCA as a swim instructor and I am trying to gain stamina in the athletic field (swimming, biking and running). I also have a dog of my own named Gizmo that was a rescue dog. He is my child and I love him deeply even if he does annoy me. Well, here is a picture of me as per request.

ReplyDeleteDon't worry at all about getting in the staff's way! They are very grateful to the volunteers. It might help to know that I think we might all be a little overwhelmed at the moment. It is par for the course right now, but we will get through it together! Give little Gizmo a kiss and keep up that trail running.
